WELCOME to our church website! What a blessing it is to serve such a wonderful congregation here at Bethel Baptist, Roswell, NM. That also includes our Associate Pastors and staff who God has called to Bethel to lead us in worship, evangelism, and ministry.
If you live here in Roswell and need a church home, we hope you will come worship with us this coming Sunday. We also have various groups for discipleship and fellow-ship with other seniors, adults, youth and children.
If you are passing through Roswell, we'd love to have you as our guest.
We strive always to honor our Lord Jesus, preach and teach the Bible as the word of God, and to glorify His
name in all we do.
Velma and I came to Roswell in 2004 after 31 years of pastoral ministry. We also share a Christian clown ministry as "Ding Dong" and "Snooterbelle" (see other photos in Pastor's Album on this site)
In October of 2005 Bethel Baptist Church called me to be their Associate Pastor. In November of 2005, my youngest son, my wife and I packed up our things and moved to Roswell. This is the first time we have lived outside the state of Texas. Moving to Roswell from the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex has been quite a change, but we are content that God called us here to serve with such a wonderful loving congregation as Bethel. Roswell is feeling a little more like home everyday.
If you don't have a church home, I would encourage you to check out this warm, loving congregation. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
If you are an outdoor person, you may run into me in a variety of places. My family and I enjoy many outdoor activities including camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, and shooting. If you see me out, feel free to introduce yourself and say howdy, I'm always open to making new friends.
I am also a licensed amateur radio operator, K5VLP, and a trained storm spotter.
Hope to see you sometime soon.

Ann and I came to Bethel Baptist Church in December 2005 from Kansas City, MO. I retired from 20 years in the United States Air Force in 1994. While in the military, I served as volunteer worship leader in Southern Baptist churches in Atwater CA, Papillion NE, Bellevue NE, and Rome NY. In 1996 I earned my Masters in Church Music from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO (while serving as interim worship pastor at Linden Baptist Church), and accepted my first full-time staff position at Crescent Heights Baptist Church in Abilene, TX, where I served for five years. In 2001 Ann and I moved back to Kansas City, and I served as Associate Pastor of worship and education at Providence Baptist Church. While there, I returned to Midwestern and in 2004 earned my Masters in Christian Education. I am an active member of the New Mexico Singing Churchmen and a chaplain at the ENMMC in Roswell. Ann and I married in 1969 and have six grown children and 18 grandchildren.
