One of Pete's favorite life verses is:
"The world and its desires pass away, but the one who does the will of God remains forever."
1 John 2:17

Music Director
Mary Gonzalez

A "pastor kid" raised here in Roswell, Mary grew up singing in church and continues that today as our Music Director. She and her family have served in the community all her life. Besides leading the music mistries of Bethel since 2015, she was also the choir director at Goddard High School and Berrendo Middle School. Besides singing, she loves spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Student Ministry
Jorge Puentes
youthpastor.bethelroswell@gmail.com

Jorge started working in youth ministry at a very young age. He served as a youth leader and Sunday School teacher for two years at Westside Baptist Church in Fontana, CA. Shortly after graduation, he joined the armed forces as an Army Medic.
He was injured during his time in service and was honorably discharged and went through a rehabilitation period. He then became youth pastor at Community Christian Church of San Bernardino where he served from 2013 to 2021.

Jorge and Petra were married in 2002 and have a son, Jorge III and a daughter Abbygail. Jorge loves everything outdoors and Christian Camp culture.

Jorge looks forward to leading young people to be salt and light to the World. And that is a Bible passage that has much meaning to him.

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its taste, how can it be made salty? It's no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:13-16

To "become salt" is to live in a manner that shows others the unconditional love of Christ by how we treat them and each other. To "become light" is to live in a manner that guides others to the truth of God's Word, and the power of the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Church Secretary/Ministry Assistant
Lenora Bowles

Lenora began wording as the church secretary of Bethel in 2010. She was born and raised in Southeastern New Mexico and married the love of her life, Robert Bowles, in 1980. She has one son and six grandchildren, who are the joy of her life.

A Bible verse that speaks to her is:
"Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us - to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever, amen".
Ephesians 3:20-21
